Barry L. Frager is the managing partner of the Frager Law Firm and has practiced immigration law since 1990. A former trial attorney for the Immigration & Naturalization Service through the U.S. Department of Justice Honors Program, he brings extensive legal experience and national recognition to his immigration-focused practice.
Mr. Frager earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Memphis School of Law in 1989. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Missouri, which he earned in 1984. His early legal career includes serving the U.S. government in Los Angeles, where he gained firsthand knowledge of immigration enforcement and litigation.
In 1994, Mr. Frager returned to Memphis to establish his law firm, which has since grown to include a second office in Nashville. His practice spans removal defense, family petitions, asylum, and employment-based immigration, including H-1B and labor certification cases. He also advises on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions.
From 2005 to 2011, Mr. Frager served as national chair of the Federal Bar Association’s Immigration Law Section, earning the Outstanding Section Chair Award in 2007. He organizes an annual CLE conference in Memphis to train fellow attorneys in immigration law. He frequently appears in courts across the U.S., including New York, Los Angeles, Houston, and San Francisco.

With 25% of his practice devoted to litigation, he is widely respected for his courtroom advocacy and strategic approach to complex immigration cases.
