Austin Hagee

Austin M. Hagee is the founder and managing trial attorney of Austin Hagee Law Firm in San Antonio, Texas. A San Antonio native and former felony prosecutor, he defends people facing charges involving DWI, assault, family violence, drug crimes, sex crimes, homicide, and white-collar offenses. His practice also covers juvenile defense, intoxication assault and manslaughter, and record sealing. He prepares cases for trial while protecting his clients’ constitutional rights and ensuring their side of the story is heard.

Austin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Texas at San Antonio’s Honors College in 2013. He received his Juris Doctor with honors from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 2016, where he attended on a Dean’s scholarship. He was inducted into the Order of Barristers and Phi Delta Phi, competed on the National Negotiations Team, and wrote for the law review The Scholar.

As a Bexar County Felony Assistant District Attorney, Austin tried and litigated hundreds of cases involving DWI, family violence, burglary, theft, drug possession, and weapons offenses. He later represented Fortune 500 companies in business litigation, insurance defense, and Deceptive Trade Practices Act matters in state and federal courts. He has taken a case to trial every year since becoming licensed in 2016 and has secured more than 350 dismissals for criminal defense clients. His prosecutorial background helps him evaluate evidence, identify weaknesses in criminal charges, and pursue dismissals or trial when appropriate.

Austin M. Hagee received Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars recognition from 2023 through 2025, The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 recognition in 2023 and 2024, and Top 40 Under 40 in Criminal Defense recognition in 2022. He is admitted to Texas courts and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. A member of the State Bar of Texas, he serves on the San Antonio Young Lawyers Association board and is a member of the William S. Sessions American Inn of Court.
