About
Anna W. Mobley is an attorney in Butler Snow’s Charleston office and a member of the firm’s Commercial Litigation group. Her practice is focused on business disputes and the litigation process, where careful factual analysis, legal research, and written advocacy are central to developing a client’s position. Mobley’s academic background in economics complements her legal training and provides an additional framework for understanding business relationships, financial issues, and the practical considerations that can shape commercial disputes.
Mobley earned a B.A. in Economics from Clemson University in 2019, an M.A. in Economics from the University of South Carolina in 2020, and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina in 2023. In law school, she served as Articles Editor of the South Carolina Journal of International Law & Business, received a CALI Award in Advanced Legal Writing, and completed a federal judicial externship with the Honorable Mary Geiger Lewis.
Mobley’s legal training included work involving advanced writing, international law and business scholarship, federal court procedure, and tax-assistance service through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. In commercial litigation, those experiences support the review of complex records, development of legal arguments, and preparation of clear written submissions. Her economics education also provides useful context for disputes involving business decisions, financial relationships, market conduct, and other commercial issues that require both legal and practical analysis.
Anna W. Mobley was admitted to the South Carolina bar in 2023 and practices from Butler Snow’s Charleston office. Her background combines economics, legal writing, journal leadership, and federal judicial experience within a Commercial Litigation practice. By applying disciplined research and analytical skills to business disputes, she helps support litigation strategy, evaluate legal and factual issues, and move commercial matters through the procedural stages required for negotiation, motion practice, or trial.
