Ann Marie Johnson brings over two decades of experience to her role at Epstein & Robbins, specializing in DUI, misdemeanor, and felony criminal defense. Her unique career spans prosecution, legal advising, and defense, making her a formidable advocate for individuals facing serious criminal charges in Florida and Georgia.
Marie earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law. During law school, she gained practical legal experience with the Duval County Public Defender’s Office and the Putnam County State Attorney’s Office. She is licensed to practice in Florida, Georgia, and in the federal court for the Middle District of Florida.
Marie began her career as a prosecutor in Miami-Dade County, serving seven years in the felony and traffic homicide divisions. She was trained as a Drug Recognition Expert and traffic crash reconstructionist. Later, she served nearly seven years as the police legal advisor for the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Alcohol Testing Program, leading DUI litigation statewide and shaping Florida’s implied consent laws.
In 2017, she became the police legal advisor for the Florida Highway Patrol in North Florida, representing over 200 troopers. Marie served as a treatment court prosecutor across Duval, Nassau, and Clay counties. Her legal background includes extensive trial and appellate experience in both criminal and administrative courts.
Ann Marie Johnson is an active member of the Jacksonville Bar Association, Florida Women’s Lawyers Association, and the National College of DUI Defense. She’s also involved in international forensic organizations like the International Association for Chemical Testing. Marie continues to lead in DUI defense and criminal litigation professionally and purposefully.
