Andrew J. Weiner is a partner in Pillsbury’s New York office, where his practice focuses on real estate transactions with both domestic and international reach. Since 1976, he has advised clients on equity and debt transactions, distressed real estate, joint ventures, and the creation of real estate funds. His work reflects deep experience across sectors, including hospitality, real estate investment trusts (REITs), and large-scale leasing.
Mr. Weiner earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1976 and his Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Yale University in 1972. With nearly five decades of practice, he brings unmatched knowledge and insight to structuring sophisticated real estate deals, guiding investors, institutions, and developers through complex transactions.
Mr. Weiner’s representative work includes counseling a New York-based university and medical center in transactions spanning more than three decades, involving over three million square feet of leasing, dormitory acquisitions, biotechnology center development, and public-private partnerships. He has also represented a Swedish public real estate company in joint ventures for Manhattan office developments and advised the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in negotiations with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for relocation of St. Nicholas Church at the World Trade Center site.
In addition to his client work, Mr. Weiner has served as Chair of the Real Estate Practice Group for Lex Mundi, a leading global association of independent law firms. He has spoken internationally, including at MIPIM in Cannes and a mayor-sponsored forum in Osaka.
