Andrew Fender

Andrew Fender is an associate at Maschoff Brennan in Salt Lake City. His practice includes complex business litigation and intellectual property disputes, with work involving patent litigation, copyright enforcement and litigation, trade secret and unfair competition matters, appellate practice, and alternative dispute resolution. He focuses on protecting intellectual property and confidential business information when disputes threaten technology, creative assets, or competitive business interests.

Fender earned his J.D. from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, completing certificates in Business Law and Litigation and Dispute Resolution. He earned a B.S. from Utah State University in Accounting and Finance with a minor in Russian. His combined legal, accounting, and finance education supports litigation involving business records, financial questions, intellectual property assets, and complex commercial relationships.

Fender previously worked as a controller at an international investment bank before entering legal practice. During law school, he served as a judicial extern to Justice Paige Petersen of the Utah Supreme Court and worked with the federal prisoner litigation unit at the US District Court for the District of Utah. These experiences added judicial, financial, and procedural perspectives to his current litigation practice.

Andrew Fender is admitted in Utah and before the US District Court for the District of Utah. His practice brings together intellectual property enforcement, complex business disputes, appellate work, and dispute resolution. He assists clients with claims involving patents, copyrights, trade secrets, and unfair competition, applying his litigation training and financial background to matters where technical rights and commercial interests are closely connected.
