Andrew D. Alpert

Andrew D. Alpert is a nationally recognized DUI defense attorney known for handling complex criminal and motor vehicle cases with focus and precision. As Maryland’s first and only attorney Board Certified in DUI Defense Law by the National College for DUI Defense, he brings advanced legal insight to every stage of defense representation.

Andrew built a strong academic foundation that supports his technical approach to criminal defense. He earned a B.A. Degree from Franklin & Marshall College in 1986, developing critical reasoning skills. He later completed his Juris Doctor at George Washington University in 1989, where he gained formal legal training that shaped his courtroom strategy.

Andrew began his legal career as a prosecutor, serving as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Charles County and Prince George’s County, Maryland. This experience provided firsthand knowledge of prosecutorial methods, evidence evaluation, and trial preparation, which he now uses to anticipate strategies and protect the rights of individuals facing DUI and criminal charges.

Andrew has defended thousands of DUI/DWI, criminal defense, and motor vehicle manslaughter cases throughout Maryland and the District of Columbia. His cases have received media attention, and he has appeared on national television to provide legal analysis on high-profile criminal matters involving impaired driving and complex evidentiary issues.
