Amy Freilich is a seasoned land use and real estate attorney with over three decades of experience guiding major projects across California. Her work includes high-impact developments in residential, industrial, retail, sports, and entertainment sectors. She has played a key role in negotiating public-private deals that shape urban and regional infrastructure.

Amy earned her A.B. in Public Policy with honors from The University of Chicago before obtaining her J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School. She is licensed to practice in California and New York and has developed a strong reputation for her legal expertise in development, zoning, and entitlement law.

Amy’s practice includes entitlements for suburban and infill mixed-use communities across Los Angeles County, the Inland Empire, the Coachella Valley, the Bay Area, and Sacramento. She has also structured and negotiated major ground leases, construction, and management agreements.

Amy has managed numerous high-profile transactions involving land acquisition and development of critical infrastructure, including light rail projects and urban hubs. Her work with entities like the Los Angeles to Pasadena Gold Line Authority and projects at Union Station highlights her ability to align legal processes with community growth goals.

Amy previously held a leadership role as Senior Vice President and Land Use Counsel at SunCal Companies, where she supported large-scale, mixed-use developments across the western U.S. Before that, she was a partner at a respected land use law firm, advising public and private clients on redevelopment and base reuse strategies.

Amy Freilich has been widely recognized in the legal and real estate industries. She has been honored as one of SoCal’s Most Powerful Real Estate Women and identified as a Top Rated Lawyer in Land Use and Zoning. Her insights are often shared at top industry events including the Urban Land Institute and American Bar Association.
