Amber Cleveland

Amber Cleveland is a Fargo-area attorney at Fremstad Law whose practice primarily focuses on family law. She also assists parents and students with education-related legal matters. Her work involves problems that can affect family relationships, schooling, and important personal decisions. Before concentrating on these areas, she gained experience in other kinds of civil legal work, including commercial litigation and creditor matters. Her approach emphasizes practical problem solving and clear attention to the particular issues facing each client.

Amber graduated cum laude from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, emphasizing Civil Litigation and minoring in Communication Studies and Philosophy. She later earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the University of North Dakota School of Law. Her legal education included North Dakota Law Review, Moot Court, the Innocence Project, and a published law review case comment. She also received the highest grade in Civil Procedure.

Amber worked as a paralegal before law school, assisting with medical malpractice defense and complex civil litigation. During law school she served as a teaching assistant in legal research and writing, worked for two years as a law clerk in East Grand Forks on family law matters, and completed a Fargo-area litigation internship. Before joining Fremstad Law, she spent five years handling creditor’s rights, commercial litigation, and collections at another local firm.

Amber Cleveland is admitted in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Wyoming, and before the federal district courts of North Dakota and Minnesota. She belongs to the State Bar Association of North Dakota and the Cass County Bar Association. Her combination of family law work, education-related representation, and earlier civil litigation experience gives her several perspectives on disputes. She helps clients evaluate legal options while keeping the personal and practical consequences of each matter in view.
