Amanda Newins

Amanda Newins is an Attorney at Shannon & Associates, P.C., where she concentrates her practice on criminal and civil litigation. She brings substantial courtroom experience to her work, including several years of service as a prosecutor in Chesapeake, where she primarily handled adult felony cases and complex criminal matters.

Amanda earned her Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law in 2016, following her undergraduate studies at James Madison University in 2014. She was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Virginia in 2016, marking the start of a legal career grounded in litigation, advocacy, and public service.

Amanda has litigated a wide range of felony cases and has developed particular interests in animal law and driving under the influence offenses. Her prosecutorial background provides her with valuable insight into criminal procedure, case strategy, and effective courtroom advocacy in both criminal and civil matters.

Amanda is deeply involved in the legal and civic community. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Virginia State Bar Young Lawyers Conference and has previously held leadership roles within that organization. She is also Vice President of the Chesapeake Bar Association and serves on several professional and civic boards throughout the Hampton Roads area.
