Amanda James Turnage represents clients in a wide range of litigation matters in both state and federal courts nationwide. Her experience covers real estate disputes, commercial and contractual issues, labor and employment claims, Title IX matters, shareholder disputes, medical device defense, and False Claims Act cases. She is committed to practical and efficient legal solutions.

Amanda earned her B.A. in Economics, summa cum laude, from the University of Alabama, where she was part of the University Honors Program and Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society. She went on to receive her J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law, where she was Order of the Coif, Senior Editor of the Alabama Law Review, and recipient of the Richard S. Manley Local Government Law Award.

Amanda counsels employers on workplace challenges, including disciplinary actions, terminations, ADA accommodations, wage-and-hour matters under the FLSA, and FMLA compliance. She also assists with workplace investigations and the development of policies, handbooks, and procedures aimed at minimizing disputes. Her work helps organizations maintain compliance while fostering fair and productive workplaces.

Amanda’s litigation practice includes defending employers in federal and state discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage-and-hour claims, as well as workers’ compensation and related state law tort and contract disputes. She has successfully represented clients in complex employment cases, advocating effectively in both courtroom and negotiation settings to protect their interests.

Amanda completed a clerkship with the Honorable C. Lynwood Smith, Jr., in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. She is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Alabama, the United States Courts of Appeals for the Eleventh and Fourth Circuits, and the United States District Courts for all three Alabama districts.
