Amalia discovered her passion for trial advocacy during law school through direct courtroom exposure. As a certified student attorney, she represented clients in court while working with the Domestic Violence Clinic and the Housing Advocacy Clinic. These experiences strengthened her ability to evaluate facts quickly, argue persuasively, and advocate responsibly under pressure.
Amalia expanded her litigation skills through competitive advocacy programs, including participation in moot court competitions at both domestic and international levels. She took part in an international moot court competition at Oxford University in England, gaining valuable perspective on legal argumentation, preparation, and professional discipline within diverse legal settings.
Amalia also gained meaningful experience working within public defense offices, where she interacted directly with clients and courts. Her time with the St. Louis County Public Defender’s Office and the Baltimore County Office of the Public Defender-Juvenile Unit strengthened her understanding of courtroom procedure, case preparation, and client advocacy in demanding environments.
Amalia was recognized for her commitment to service during law school as a recipient of the Dean’s Pro Bono Publico Award for “exceptional service to the community.” This honor reflected the completion of more than 100 hours of pro bono work, reinforcing her dedication to ethical practice and community-focused legal service.
