Allyson M. Britton is counsel at Morris James LLP, focusing her practice on labor, employment, and education law. With more than 18 years of experience, she represents employers in complex disputes involving discrimination, retaliation, constitutional claims, contract disputes, restrictive covenants, and misappropriation of business opportunities. She regularly defends clients in both state and federal courts, providing strategic advocacy to achieve efficient and effective results.
Allyson earned her J.D., cum laude, from Widener University Delaware Law School and her B.S. from Washington College. Following law school, she clerked for the Honorable Myron T. Steele of the Delaware Supreme Court from 2006 to 2007. She is admitted to practice in Delaware and the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, where she has built a respected litigation practice.
Allyson advises employers in industries including health care, banking, education, and municipalities. She counsels on compliance with state and federal employment laws, strategies to prevent claims, and solutions to address employee issues. Her practice extends to advising educational institutions on student, parent, and faculty matters, as well as addressing social media and privacy concerns. She is also a frequent speaker on employment and education law topics.
Beyond her legal work, Allyson M. Britton is active in professional and community organizations. She is a past chair of the Delaware State Bar Association’s Labor and Employment Section and a member of the American Bar Association. She has also served as an attorney for abused and neglected children through the Office of the Child Advocate and has supported organizations such as Girls Inc. of Delaware and the Delaware Humane Association.
