About

Alice Goldman Reiter is a committed and experienced attorney at Wang Hecker LLP. Her practice includes housing and job discrimination, sexual assault, police misconduct, and commercial cases. She represents both individuals and organizations in complex legal matters. Her work has led to major changes, including stronger protections for sexual assault survivors and better enforcement of fair housing laws.

Ms. Reiter earned her J.D. from New York University School of Law in 2010, graduating cum laude. She was a Robert McKay Scholar and served as Articles Editor for the Journal of Legislation and Public Policy. She received her B.A. from Yale University in 2004.

Before joining Wang Hecker LLP in 2013, Ms. Reiter worked as a law clerk to Hon. Barbara S. Jones in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. She also worked as an associate at a major commercial law firm in New York City. Her broad legal experience gives her a strong foundation in both civil rights and commercial litigation.

Ms. Reiter has delivered significant results in high-profile civil rights and discrimination cases. She represented sexual assault survivors in a landmark lawsuit against the NYPD for failing to properly investigate their reports. In a major fair housing case, she helped secure a $2.9 million settlement and forced accessibility upgrades to make buildings more accessible for people with disabilities. When the owners failed to comply, she obtained an additional $800,000 in penalties for her clients.

Ms. Reiter has represented many people who faced job discrimination or harassment due to their gender, race, or sexual orientation. She has worked with victims of sexual abuse, including those harmed by people in positions of power. Her work has helped clients win both compensation and important policy changes.

Alice Goldman Reiter is admitted to practice in New York and in multiple federal courts. She is also active in professional and advocacy groups, including NELA/NY. She brings a sharp legal mind and a strong sense of justice to every case she handles.
