Alice A. Shaw (Purdy)

Alice A. Shaw (Purdy) is a Certified Family Law Specialist and the firm’s Principal with nearly 15 years of legal experience. She has a strong record of resolving complex and high-conflict family law cases, providing strategic guidance and practical solutions for clients across a wide range of matters.

Alice earned her Juris Doctor from Golden Gate University, where she received a Certificate of Specialization with Distinction in Environmental Law. She served on the Moot Court Board and earned the CALI Award for Excellence in Water Law. She also holds a B.S. in Conservation and Resource Studies and a B.A. in English from the University of California, Berkeley.

Alice focuses on all areas of family law, including high-asset property division, business interests, equity compensation, and support matters. She also handles complex custody disputes, domestic violence cases, and marital agreements, working with trusted experts to build strong cases and achieve effective and lasting resolutions.

Alice is skilled in multiple forms of representation, including mediation consulting, negotiated settlements, and litigation. She uses her civil litigation background when trial becomes necessary and has experience handling confidential matters, contested agreements, and strategic planning for enforceable marital agreements in both public and private court settings.

Alice has been recognized as a 2025 Super Lawyer and was previously named a Rising Star each year since 2019. She was also named one of the 2025 Top Family Lawyers in California by the Daily Journal and received the Queen’s Bench Service Award in 2019 for her professionalism and service.
