About
Alexander Clarke is a senior associate attorney in WSHB’s New Orleans office whose practice centers on insurance coverage, particularly large residential and commercial first-party property claims. He represents underwriters and domestic insurers in arbitration and in state and federal courts. His work includes complex coverage disputes involving forum selection, arbitration provisions, and legal questions that affect how insurance claims are resolved in Louisiana.
Alexander earned a J.D. from Tulane University Law School, where he completed a certificate in International and Comparative Law, and a B.S. from the University of Bath. During law school, he served as an articles editor for the Tulane Journal of International and Comparative Law and as chief justice of the Tulane chapter of Phi Alpha Delta. His training supports detailed insurance and arbitration analysis.
Alexander has worked on litigation concerning Louisiana Revised Statute 22:868(D) and the treatment of arbitration provisions for surplus line carriers. He further uses international arbitration principles under the Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards when addressing complex coverage disputes.
Alexander Clarke is licensed in Louisiana and New York and before federal courts in Louisiana and the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. His current practice is clearly focused on insurance law and coverage litigation. He helps insurers address difficult property claims, arbitration questions, procedural disputes, and coverage issues that require careful legal briefing, strategic motion practice, and familiarity with state, federal, and international arbitration rules.
