Alexander J. DeGiulio

Alexander J. DeGiulio is a partner in Chaffe McCall’s New Orleans office whose practice includes admiralty and maritime law, commercial litigation, insurance, and railroad matters. He represents clients in disputes that combine legal, operational, and business concerns, with particular experience in maritime-related work. His work emphasizes careful attention to each matter and the use of current legal and business knowledge when advising clients through contested issues.

Alex earned a J.D. cum laude from Tulane University Law School, along with a Maritime Law Certificate, and a B.A. from Bucknell University. At Tulane, he served as Managing Editor of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal, Executive Chair of the Tulane Environmental Law and Policy Summit, and a member of the Moot Court Board. His academic training strongly supports his maritime and litigation practice.

Alex gained practical experience through the Tulane Environmental Law Clinic, where he helped draft an amicus brief later submitted to the US Supreme Court. He served as a judicial intern for Judge Fredericka H. Wicker of the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal and as a legal intern in the US Coast Guard Eighth District Legal Office. These roles added appellate, environmental, and maritime perspectives to his background.
