Alex Halbach

Alex Halbach is a dedicated attorney and co-founder of Halbach|Szwarc Law Firm, providing high-quality legal services to businesses, individuals, and non-profits. With a strong background in business and corporate law, agriculture, real estate, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, family law, and non-profit regulation, Alex helps clients navigate complex legal matters. His experience in both transactional and litigation cases allows him to offer strategic legal solutions tailored to each client’s needs.

Alex earned his B.A. in Political Science, with a minor in Business Economics, from South Dakota State University in 2007, graduating magna cum laude and with honors college distinction. He then obtained a J.D. and M.B.A. from the University of South Dakota School of Law and the University of South Dakota Beacom School of Business in 2010.

Before co-founding Halbach|Szwarc Law Firm in 2023, Alex served as a partner at Cutler Law Firm, LLP, where he built deep experience in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate transactions. He advises startups, established companies, and non-profits on business formation, contracts, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance, helping organizations stay legally compliant while strategically advancing their business goals.

In addition to corporate law, Alex has a strong background in family law, assisting clients with divorce and alimony matters. His ability to handle complex legal issues with precision and professionalism makes him a trusted advocate in his field.

Beyond legal practice, Alex Halbach’s passion for historic preservation led him to establish Boulevard Companies, focusing on restoring historic properties. His commitment to the legal and business communities is reflected in his leadership roles, including serving on the South Dakota State University Alumni Association Board of Directors, the Sioux Falls Board of Historic Preservation, and the Sioux Falls Food Co+op Board of Directors.
