Cate E. Edwards is a trial lawyer who represents people harmed by corporate negligence, civil rights violations, sexual harassment, assault, and wrongful termination. Cate graduated cum laude from Princeton University in 2004 with a degree in Politics and a certificate in Political Economy. She earned her law degree from Harvard Law School in 2009, where she worked with the Harvard Legal Aid Bureau and served as Policy Editor.
Cate focuses her personal injury practice on serious injuries and wrongful death caused by corporate negligence, truck and vehicle accidents, industrial accidents, and unsafe property conditions. She also represents whistleblowers, workers facing retaliation or discrimination, and individuals harmed by sexual harassment or assault.
Cate also handles civil rights matters involving police shootings, abuse, prison injury and death caused by poor health care or mistreatment, and wrongful conviction cases. Her practice reflects a deep commitment to people facing life-changing harm and to pursuing accountability through thoughtful, determined representation.
Cate began her legal career clerking for U.S. District Judge Leonie M. Brinkema in the Eastern District of Virginia. She later joined Sanford Heisler in Washington, D.C., worked on class action matters, and became a partner at Edwards Kirby before founding Edwards Beightol.
