His legal education and early federal service provided a foundation for a career centered on administrative, legislative, and policy matters. Since joining the firm in 1977, he has advised clients on changing federal and state requirements affecting energy development, public lands, permitting, and resource management.

Alan represents privately owned and public entities, including Alaska Native corporations, the State of Louisiana, Alaska’s North Slope Borough, local and state governments, nonprofit organizations, land developers, and timber companies. He counsels these clients on public land, energy, natural resources, permitting, and land acquisition issues. His experience with large land exchanges requires coordination across multiple levels of government and with private stakeholders. He also assists clients in legislative and administrative matters where policy decisions can directly affect long-term use and development of land and resources.

Alan L. Mintz brings decades of federal policy and natural resources experience to matters involving land use, public lands, energy, and government decision-making. He is admitted in the District of Columbia and Connecticut and is a member of the American Bar Association.
