About

Alan Ehrlich has more than 35 years of experience counseling clients in tax, estate planning, business, and family law. His practice includes estate administration, probate, corporate law, tax controversies, and family law matters. Ehrlich regularly advises on business transactions, mergers, acquisitions, shareholder agreements, and property transfers. He is known for providing effective strategies that combine legal and financial insight to help individuals, families, and businesses achieve long-term stability.

Ehrlich earned his B.S., cum laude, in Accounting from Fairleigh Dickinson University before receiving his J.D. from New York Law School. In addition to his law degree, he is a Certified Public Accountant, giving him specialized knowledge in tax and financial planning. This dual background enables him to handle complex cases involving estate taxation, corporate transactions, and the financial aspects of divorce, child support, and asset division.

Ehrlich has represented clients before the Internal Revenue Service, the New Jersey Division of Taxation, and the New York Tax Department in audits, appeals, and litigation. He has handled estate planning tools ranging from wills and powers of attorney to advanced techniques such as grantor retained annuity trusts, charitable trusts, and family limited partnerships. He also represents executors, trustees, and beneficiaries in probate litigation, including will contests and accounting disputes. His expertise makes him a trusted advocate in both preventative planning and courtroom advocacy.

Dedicated to professional service, Alan Ehrlich has chaired the Essex County Bar Association Taxation Committee and lectured extensively on tax law. He has authored articles on estate and tax planning and remains active in legal associations across New Jersey, New York, and Washington, D.C. His recognition as a Super Lawyer and Businessman of the Year reflects his career-long dedication to clients. Ehrlich is admitted in state and federal courts in New Jersey, New York, and the U.S. Tax Court.
