Jeffrey W. Plaza

Jeffrey W. Plaza is a partner with more than 25 years of litigation experience in New Jersey and New York. His practice is devoted to handling complex civil cases, including commercial litigation, divorce and family law, catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, probate disputes, and insurance coverage matters. Plaza has represented individuals, small businesses, and corporations in high-stakes disputes, earning a reputation for strategic advocacy and practical solutions tailored to each client’s goals.

Plaza earned his B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science from Seton Hall University in 1990 and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1993. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, as well as before multiple federal courts and the U.S. Supreme Court. His diverse admissions allow him to represent clients in a broad range of jurisdictions, both at the trial and appellate levels.

In commercial matters, Plaza handles disputes involving contracts, shareholder oppression, business torts, UCC issues, land use, zoning, and insurance coverage claims. He has also represented national banks and mortgage servicers in insurance disputes involving distressed properties. In family law, Plaza litigates divorce cases, equitable distribution disputes, child custody and support, and restraining order applications. He is also approved as a mediator in both commercial and family law matters, often assisting parties in resolving disputes efficiently outside of court.
