Adam W. Poff

Adam W. Poff is a partner at Young Conaway Stargatt & Taylor, LLP, where he co-chairs the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation practice as well as the Trade Secret and Employee Mobility practice. For nearly two decades, he has represented clients in high-stakes litigation across federal and state courts, focusing on patent infringement, trademark and trade dress disputes, trade secret misappropriation, licensing conflicts, fraud, and other complex commercial issues.

Adam earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Delaware before receiving his Juris Doctor from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Roderick R. McKelvie of the United States District Court for the District of Delaware, gaining invaluable early experience in federal litigation that continues to inform his practice today.

As lead litigation counsel, Adam has handled matters involving diverse subject matter and technologies, including GPS locator systems, backup and restore software, device communication hardware, automated music selection platforms, tax preparation software, and medical staffing technologies. He has also served as Delaware counsel in more than 200 cases before the District of Delaware, working closely with out-of-state counsel in some of the nation’s most significant intellectual property disputes.
