About

Adam D. Young is a skilled trial attorney in Charleston, South Carolina, with extensive experience in criminal defense and personal injury litigation. He began his career at the Ninth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, prosecuting domestic violence and later violent crimes, including drug offenses, robberies, and attempted murder cases. His early years as a prosecutor gave him valuable insight into how cases are built and tried, knowledge he now uses to defend his clients effectively.

Mr. Young earned his Bachelor’s from James Madison University before completing his J.D. at Appalachian School of Law. While in law school, he gained federal experience working with the Navy JAG, NCIS division in Washington, DC, and clerking for the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Charleston. These opportunities provided early exposure to trial preparation, investigation, and advocacy, laying the groundwork for his later success as both a prosecutor and defense attorney.

In addition to criminal defense, Mr. Young represents individuals in personal injury matters, focusing on maximizing recovery for clients injured due to negligence. He has handled negotiations, mediations, and trials involving serious injury claims, always working directly for individuals rather than corporations or insurance companies. His dual experience in both criminal and civil matters allows him to navigate high-stakes litigation while tailoring his strategies to meet the unique needs of each client.

Adam D. Young has earned recognition from Super Lawyers, Martindale-Hubbell, and The National Trial Lawyers Top 100. He also serves as prosecutor for the City of Folly Beach and legal advisor for Hunting for Healing Inc., supporting disabled veterans and their families. Active in professional organizations and pro bono service, he continues to combine trial advocacy with community involvement, providing skilled and compassionate representation to those he serves.
