About

Abigail W. White is an associate in Phelps’ Birmingham office whose practice focuses on Litigation and Labor and Employment. White assists clients with civil disputes and workplace matters that require legal research, briefing, discovery, and case preparation. Before joining private practice, she completed judicial experience in both federal and state courts, giving her a practical view of how judges evaluate records, written arguments, procedural questions, and the legal standards that shape contested matters.

White earned a J.D., summa cum laude, from Cumberland School of Law in 2023 and a B.A. in English from the University of Alabama in 2019. At Cumberland, she served as managing editor of the Cumberland Law Review and interned for U.S. District Judge R. David Proctor. Her academic background strengthened research, writing, editing, and analytical skills that are central to litigation and employment-law advocacy.

After law school, White served as a judicial law clerk to Justice Greg Cook of the Alabama Supreme Court. That role added appellate-level experience with briefing, legal authorities, records, and judicial decision-making. Her current practice applies those skills to litigation and labor and employment matters, where lawyers must identify controlling law, develop clear written positions, manage factual records, and advise clients on procedural and strategic choices throughout a dispute.

Abigail W. White is admitted in Alabama and in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama. Her combination of law-review work, federal judicial internship experience, and an Alabama Supreme Court clerkship provides a strong foundation for written advocacy and litigation strategy. She helps clients address civil and employment disputes through careful legal analysis, organized briefing, and attention to the procedural details that can influence how a case develops.
