Abbe David Lowell

Abbe David Lowell is a founding member of Lowell & Associates, PLLC, and one of the nation’s leading white collar defense and trial attorneys. Named among the 100 Most Influential Lawyers in the country, he has handled some of the most high-profile criminal and civil cases across the United States. His practice spans public corruption, financial fraud, conspiracy, election law, civil rights, criminal, obstruction, and national security matters.

Lowell earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School after graduating with honors from Columbia College. Beyond his academic achievements, he has shared his knowledge as a professor, teaching criminal procedure, evidence, trial practice, and congressional oversight and investigations at Georgetown Law Center and Columbia Law School. Through these roles, he has trained future lawyers while contributing to scholarship in both legal and non-legal publications.

Lowell has tried cases before juries in more than 15 states and over 20 federal districts, and he has argued appeals in most of the federal courts of appeals, several state supreme courts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. His advocacy extends beyond courtrooms, as he has represented clients in congressional hearings, federal enforcement actions, and state-level investigations. He also served as Chief Minority Counsel to Congress during the impeachment proceedings of President Clinton and as Special Counsellor to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
