Zaki Ali

Zaki Ali is an immigration lawyer, criminal defense and personal injury attorney, and the principal of his own law practice in Anderson, Indiana. He represents clients in matters involving violent crimes, drug offenses, sex crimes, theft, DUI and DWI, personal injury, and immigration. He has tried cases in city, state, and federal courts across Indiana for more than two decades. He is admitted to practice in Indiana and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana. Mr. Ali earned his B.A. in Public Relations and Marketing from Southeast Missouri State University in 1987 and his M.A. in Human Resources Training and Development from the University of Wisconsin in 1990. He earned his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University’s Salmon P. Chase College of Law in 1998, where he served as Vice President of the Black Law Students Association and as a Student Bar Association Class Representative.

Mr. Ali began his legal career as a Senior Law Clerk and later a Deputy Attorney General in the Consumer Protection Department of the Indiana Attorney General’s Office, followed by a position as Deputy Prosecutor at the Madison County Prosecutor’s Office. He founded his own practice in 2002. Moreover, he was personally mentored by Gerry Spence, widely regarded as one of the greatest trial lawyers in American history, and later served as a faculty member at the Gerry Spence Trial Lawyers College from 2010 to 2020.

Zaki Ali also published in the College’s quarterly journal and taught at the Indiana Public Defender Council for a decade. His path to law was shaped by his mother’s experience with the federal justice system. He has been recognized as a Top 100 Trial Lawyer by the National Trial Lawyers, awarded a 10 Best Attorneys distinction by the American Institute of DUI/DWI Attorneys, and honored with the AVVO Clients’ Choice Award.
