Yomayra Vallejo Cortez is an experienced immigration attorney dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate complex immigration challenges. Since beginning her U.S. immigration practice in 2016, she has successfully handled more than 1,000 cases, including asylum, family-based petitions, waivers, TPS, VAWA, DACA, and naturalization. Known for her commitment to justice, she approaches each case with professionalism, compassion, and hands-on attention to detail.
Cortez earned her Master of Comparative Law from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in 2016. She also holds a J.D. and an Attorney degree from the Pontifical Catholic University in Quito, Ecuador, obtained in 1990. Licensed to practice law in both the United States and Ecuador, she has been admitted to the New York Bar since 2016. Her dual qualifications provide a unique international perspective that benefits clients from diverse backgrounds.
Before practicing in the United States, Cortez worked as an attorney in Quito, Ecuador, where she developed strong legal and advocacy skills. Since relocating to the U.S., she has focused her career on U.S. immigration law, guiding clients through every stage of the process with clear communication and strategic legal solutions. Her practice emphasizes integrity, accessibility, and a deep understanding of the immigrant experience.
