William P. Fuller

William P. Fuller is an attorney with Fuller, Williamson, Nelsen & Preheim, LLP in Sioux Falls and has practiced law in South Dakota since 1973. William is a highly experienced trial lawyer whose work includes commercial litigation and other complex civil disputes. He has tried more than 150 jury trials and has extensive reported appellate experience in both South Dakota and federal courts.

William attended Utah State University and the University of South Dakota as an undergraduate and received his law degree from the University of South Dakota in 1973. He joined Woods, Fuller, Shultz & Smith after law school and became a partner there in 1976. His early and continuing practice provided extensive exposure to litigation strategy, evidentiary issues, trial advocacy, and appellate procedure across a wide range of civil matters.

Fuller has more than 35 reported South Dakota Supreme Court decisions and more than 50 reported federal court decisions. He has also been appointed as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of South Dakota to assist in defending state entities. In addition to trial and appellate work, he serves as a civil mediator and arbitrator and is admitted in South Dakota, Minnesota, and several tribal courts.

He is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and the American College of Trial Lawyers and has held leadership roles in South Dakota bar and trial organizations.
