About

William Crowther is an associate at Holland & Hart LLP in Anchorage who supports clients in environmental and infrastructure litigation and project development across Alaska. He represents clients in complex commercial disputes involving mining, oil and gas, and environmental remediation. Will’s practice also includes regulatory work and project counseling, with a focus on helping energy and natural resources clients address legal issues that arise during development, operations, permitting, and contested proceedings.

Will earned a J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School in 2022, where he was a Chancellor’s Law Scholar, participated in Phi Delta Phi, and worked with the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. He earned a B.A. in Geology from Colorado College in 2015. His geology background supports work involving oil and gas, mining, environmental remediation, and project development by giving him a technical foundation for understanding land, resource, and environmental issues.

Will’s experience includes oil and gas lease termination disputes, defense of energy and natural resource development permits, environmental remediation, permitting, and regulatory compliance. His oil and gas work extends across Alaska’s North Slope and Cook Inlet. He also handles commercial litigation involving resource projects, using his technical background to understand factual records and his legal training to address contractual, regulatory, and environmental questions that can determine whether projects move forward or become the subject of litigation.

William Crowther is admitted in Alaska and has been recognized by Alaska Business Legal Elite. He also writes on administrative and environmental law developments, including questions involving agency deference. Will combines environmental litigation, project development, permitting, and resource-industry knowledge in a practice focused on Alaska’s energy and natural resources sector. His work helps clients understand regulatory obligations, defend project approvals, address cleanup responsibilities, and manage disputes involving valuable natural resource assets.
