William (Bill) Keene

William “Bill” Keene is an Ottawa, Illinois family law attorney who has maintained his own practice since 1994. His work centers on family law matters, and he has handled more than 25,000 family law cases. His courtroom experience includes trial work and appeals. He has also served in public legal roles involving state government and child support enforcement, adding a broad perspective to his family law practice.

Bill attended Illinois State University, where he completed college studies in 1985 and served as director of Student Legal Services and the Tenant Union. He later attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for law school. While there, he served as president of the Student Bar Association and Phi Alpha Delta, worked as a chief law clerk for the Jackson County State’s Attorney, and spent two years as a research assistant.

Bill has represented family law clients for decades and has pursued matters through trial and the Illinois Appellate Court. Before establishing his own practice, he served as an Illinois Assistant Attorney General and as a Child Support Enforcement Attorney for LaSalle and Grundy counties. He was also selected as one of 45 family law attorneys for a professional delegation to Cuba focused on legal exchange and family law issues.
