About
William B. Nash is a highly skilled intellectual property attorney with more than three decades of national and international litigation experience. He focuses on protecting his clients’ rights in high-stakes disputes, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and unfair competition cases across numerous U.S. jurisdictions and before the ITC.
William began his academic path with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1980. He later earned his J.D. with distinction from St. Mary’s University School of Law in 1988, where he served as Articles Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Journal and was a member of the John M. Harlan Society and Phi Delta Phi.
Throughout his legal career, William has advised clients on infringement risks and intellectual property strategies. His guidance has helped companies protect and commercialize their innovations while avoiding litigation. He has overseen more than 4,000 trademark filings worldwide and acted as lead counsel in over 100 Trademark Trial and Appeal Board matters.
Recognized by his peers and the legal industry, William holds the prestigious AV® Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell®. He has consistently been named in The Best Lawyers in America from 2019 to 2025 and was honored as “Lawyer of the Year” in 2023. He was also featured in the WTR 1000 for his leadership in trademark law and named among the Best San Antonio Lawyers and as an Outstanding Lawyer by local legal publications.
William B. Nash is admitted to practice in Texas, before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and in several federal appellate and district courts. His dedication to advancing intellectual property law is also shown through his involvement in professional groups such as the American Intellectual Property Law Association and the International Trademark Association.
