About
Chris L. Gilbert is the President and CEO of Gilbert PC, a nationally recognized trial and business attorney known for handling high-stakes, complex litigation. With over 25 years of experience, he has tried and managed billion-dollar cases in state and federal courts across the U.S., including appeals, arbitrations, and international forums.
Chris earned his J.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where he was active in moot court and the Banking Law Journal. He also holds both a B.A. magna cum laude and an M.A. from Midwestern State University. His multidisciplinary education supports a strategic approach to litigation and business law.
Throughout his career, Chris has practiced in trial and appellate courts nationwide and before the ITC, TTAB, and international arbitration panels. He focuses on commercial litigation, intellectual property, entertainment law, sports law, and investor representation. His use of focus groups, mock trials, and jury consulting has made him a standout courtroom advocate.
Chris also advises businesses and entrepreneurs in transactions, governance, and distressed asset recovery. He regularly counsels clients on navigating litigation risk during corporate acquisitions and restructures, drawing on his litigation expertise to inform business strategies.
Before founding Gilbert PC, Chris L. Gilbert was a partner at three AmLaw 100 firms—K&L Gates, Patton Boggs, and Bryan Cave—where he chaired litigation and IP sections. He began his legal career at Boult Cummings in Nashville and later served as North American Litigation Co-Chair for TAGLaw®, a Chambers Global–ranked alliance.
An active member of the legal and business communities, Chris is affiliated with numerous bar associations and is a member of the Dallas Business Journal Leadership Trust. His extensive publications and lectures reflect a commitment to thought leadership in trial and intellectual property law.
