About
William A. Repaske is a family law lawyer in New Iberia, Louisiana, with a general practice that includes domestic and family law, personal injury, successions, real estate, and general litigation. Admitted to the Louisiana Bar in 1986, he also practices before the United States District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal, and the United States Tax Court. His broad legal background supports clients facing disputes, transitions, and planning needs.
William earned his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University. He later earned his M.S. from the University of Georgia and his J.D. from Louisiana State University in 1985. Before entering law, he worked as a field biologist at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory on the U.S. Department of Energy’s Savannah River Plant in Aiken, South Carolina. That early scientific background reflects a foundation in research, observation, and detailed analysis.
William became a partner with the firm on January 1, 1993, and moved to of counsel status on January 1, 2022. He remains active in a general legal practice and draws on decades of experience handling client matters involving family concerns, litigation, property issues, and succession-related needs. He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Inn on the Teche American Inns of Court, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and American Bar Association.
William A. Repaske also completed the 42-hour mediator training program at the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University. Although he has not acted as a mediator, that training has helped him settle cases through the mediation process and guide clients toward practical resolutions.
