Whitney M. Kolivas

Whitney M. Kolivas is Senior Counsel in Crowley Fleck’s Casper office. Her practice focuses on real property and complex commercial, contract, and banking disputes. She has represented businesses and individuals in state and federal courts and works across areas including commercial litigation, creditors’ rights and bankruptcy, healthcare, real estate, tort litigation, and business organizations. Her litigation background is especially relevant to clients facing property, financing, contract, and business conflicts that require careful factual and legal analysis.

Whitney earned a B.A., cum laude, from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She later earned a J.D. with high honors from the University of Montana School of Law. In law school, she served as an editor of the Public Land and Resources Law Review and as a Contracts teaching assistant. After graduation, she clerked for US Magistrate Judge Carolyn S. Ostby in the US District Court for the District of Montana.

Whitney has represented clients in real property and commercial disputes involving contracts, banking relationships, and other business issues. Her practice includes court work in complex civil matters and draws on experience in both federal and state litigation. The judicial clerkship following law school provided direct exposure to federal procedure, written advocacy, and judicial decision-making, while her work since then has focused on helping businesses and individuals navigate contested matters with significant financial or property interests.

She is admitted in Wyoming, Montana, and Mississippi, as well as the US District Court for the District of Montana and the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
