Viral Mehta

Viral Mehta is the managing attorney at Mehta & McConnell PLLC in Charlotte, North Carolina. His main practice focuses on workers’ compensation, with additional work involving personal injury claims. He represents injured workers dealing with workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, lost wages, and disputed benefits. He also assists clients who have suffered injuries outside the workplace and need to understand their options for legal recovery.

Mehta received a Bachelor of Arts in History from Davidson College and earned his law degree from Wake Forest University School of Law. He returned to Charlotte after law school to begin his legal career. His education, combined with extensive experience on both sides of workers’ compensation claims, informs his approach to evidence, benefits questions, insurance procedures, and the practical concerns of people injured at work.

During the first decade of his practice, Mehta defended employers and major insurance companies in workers’ compensation matters. He later established a workers’ compensation practice group representing injured employees before co-founding his current firm. He has pursued favorable decisions before the North Carolina Industrial Commission, the North Carolina Court of Appeals, and the North Carolina Supreme Court. He also serves as a certified Superior Court mediator.

Mehta is a North Carolina State Bar board-certified specialist in workers’ compensation law and contributed to the 2017 North Carolina Workers’ Compensation LexisNexis Practice Guide.
