Valerie Farris Oman

Valerie Farris Oman is a Seattle partner whose practice focuses on community association law. She advises condominium and homeowner associations through association general counsel services, assessment recovery, and litigation. Her work helps association boards address legal obligations, manage disputes, pursue unpaid assessments, and make informed decisions affecting their communities. She brings a practical approach to matters that may involve governance, finances, and enforcement.

Valerie earned a Juris Doctor from Seattle University School of Law. Her legal education provided a strong foundation in research, analysis, advocacy, and practical problem-solving. This training supports her work for community associations, where governing documents, statutory duties, financial concerns, and disputes may overlap. She applies that background when helping association leaders understand legal issues, assess their options, and identify workable paths forward.

Valerie is an active volunteer with the Washington State Community Associations Institute, a trade group that serves and advocates for community associations across the state. She speaks at industry events and before homeowner associations while contributing regularly to industry periodicals. In 2022 and 2024, she presented at the Community Associations Institute’s National Law Seminar. She also conducts weekly online question-and-answer sessions covering issues relevant to condominium and homeowner associations.

Valerie Farris Oman was admitted to the College of Community Association Lawyers in 2024 and is one of only five attorneys in Washington State to earn that distinction. She also mentors, trains, and supports a growing team of community association law professionals.
