About

Tyler Fox is an attorney in Cambridge who maintains a private practice and serves of counsel to Altman & Altman, LLP. His civil work has included personal injury, workers compensation, immigration matters, sexual abuse claims, harassment cases, and civil rights litigation. For many years, he has focused particularly on advocacy and civil litigation for people who report sexual harassment or abuse by clergy, doctors, teachers, employers, and other individuals or institutions.

Tyler earned his J.D. from New England Law School/Boston in 1979 and an M.S.W. from Boston University in 1990. After beginning legal practice, he spent several years working in human services and later practiced as a psychotherapist. That combined legal and social-work training informs a practice involving clients who have experienced trauma, discrimination, abuse, workplace problems, and other difficult circumstances requiring careful communication as well as litigation experience.

Tyler has represented clients in injury, abuse, and civil-rights matters in Massachusetts and elsewhere. His work has included litigation for immigrant clients, claims involving sexual abuse on public property, and cases brought on behalf of teachers and licensure candidates challenging alleged disparate-impact discrimination. He has presented on abuse-related legal issues, taught an employment-law course at Northeastern University, and hosted a Cambridge television program focused on legal topics.

Tyler Fox has maintained a Cambridge legal practice for many years while drawing on experience in law, psychotherapy, advocacy, and teaching. His work with injured and abused clients combines civil litigation with an understanding of the personal effects of trauma and discrimination. He helps clients pursue claims involving personal injury, sexual abuse, harassment, employment-related civil rights, and other disputes where legal advocacy must be paired with careful attention to the client’s circumstances.
