About

Cliff Wilson is a Brentwood attorney whose practice centers on defending personal injury and workers compensation claims. He brings extensive courtroom experience to civil disputes and has tried approximately 200 jury trials to verdict, along with many non-jury matters. His work combines litigation judgment with practical case evaluation, giving clients experienced guidance through contested claims, trial preparation, and resolution strategy in Tennessee courts.

Cliff graduated from the University of Memphis School of Law in 1983. After law school, he earned a one-year clerkship with Tennessee Supreme Court Chief Justice William H. D. Fones, becoming the first Memphis graduate to serve in that position. That early appellate experience strengthened his foundation in legal analysis, court procedure, and written advocacy before he developed a long litigation practice.

Cliff has spent much of his career defending injury and workers compensation matters while building substantial trial experience. He later obtained Rule 31 qualifications as a mediator and developed an active mediation practice. His background as a litigator gives him practical insight into disputed evidence, settlement positions, courtroom risk, and the competing considerations that shape civil cases before trial or negotiated resolution.

Cliff Wilson has received professional recognition for work representing employers and employees, including a 2021 Lawyer of the Year honor in Tennessee from Best Lawyers. He has received repeated Best Lawyers and Super Lawyers selections. The Tennessee Supreme Court selected him for two consecutive three-year appointments as a panel member for the Board of Professional Responsibility, reflecting experience that extends from litigation and mediation to professional responsibility service.
