Troy P. Owens, Jr.

Troy P. Owens, Jr. is an accomplished trial lawyer with extensive experience in both criminal defense and personal injury matters. A San Diego native, he has built his career serving clients throughout California’s state and federal courts. With a background in federal, state, and local legal systems, he brings a unique perspective and dedication to protecting the rights of individuals facing serious criminal charges and injury-related claims.

Mr. Owens earned his B.A. in Criminal Justice Administration with a minor in Political Science from San Diego State University. He went on to receive his J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law, one of the region’s top legal institutions. During his legal studies, he gained valuable courtroom exposure through internships with the San Diego District Attorney’s Office and the Alternate Public Defender’s Office.

Before opening his own practice, Mr. Owens worked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Marshal’s Service Violent Crimes Task Force, collaborating with over a dozen agencies on complex investigations. He later worked in civil litigation at a respected firm and as a Deputy Public Defender for San Diego County from 2012 to 2016. These experiences provided him with an in-depth understanding of both prosecution and defense strategies.

Since establishing his practice in 2016, Troy P. Owens, Jr. has successfully represented clients in cases ranging from DUI and drug offenses to violent felonies and gang-related crimes.
