Tricia Kirkby Hofmann

Tricia Kirkby Hofmann is a partner and managing attorney at Waters, Tyler, Hofmann & Scott, LLC in New Albany. Her legal practice focuses on insurance coverage, insurance litigation, and insurance defense. She has been with the firm for nearly twenty-five years and became a partner in 2003. Since 2019, she has served as managing attorney while continuing to work on coverage questions, insurance disputes, and defense matters.

Tricia earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from DePauw University, graduating cum laude in 1992. She received a Master’s degree from The Ohio State University in 1994. She later earned a Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 1997, graduating among the top five students in her class. She was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1998.

Tricia’s work involves analyzing insurance coverage issues and litigating disputes where policy terms, liability questions, and defense obligations are contested. Her management role adds responsibility for the firm’s internal administration while she continues legal practice. She is admitted before the US District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana, supporting representation in federal insurance matters as well as litigation in Indiana state courts.

Tricia Kirkby Hofmann has served as president of the Floyd County Bar Association and holds a long-standing leadership role within her firm. Her practice remains directly focused on insurance coverage, insurance litigation, and insurance defense. She combines legal analysis, litigation experience, and firm management responsibilities while serving clients facing disputed coverage and liability matters in New Albany and across Indiana.
