Trent R. Buckallew

Trent R. Buckallew is a Phoenix criminal defense attorney and Board Certified Specialist in Criminal Law through the State Bar of Arizona. Trent defends clients in DUI and criminal cases ranging from misdemeanors to serious and complex felony jury trials. His practice is focused on protecting people accused of crimes and addressing the evidence, procedure, and forensic issues that can determine the outcome of a case. He brings substantial public defense and private practice experience to his work.

Trent earned a J.D. from California Western School of Law and a B.S. from Arizona State University with an academic emphasis in Criminal Justice. He later earned an M.F.S. from National University with study in areas including psychology, psychiatry and law, crime scene investigation, toxicology, DNA, serology, forensic medicine, firearms, and forensic anthropology. This education supports criminal defense work involving scientific evidence, investigation, mental-health issues, and contested forensic conclusions.

Trent began his legal career with the Mohave County Public Defender’s Office and later worked for the Maricopa County Public Defender’s Office before entering private practice. Those roles provided extensive trial exposure and experience with Arizona’s criminal justice system. He has handled DUI cases and criminal charges across a wide range of seriousness. He has completed advanced trial skills training through the Institute for Criminal Defense Advocacy and participates in criminal defense organizations.
