Travis L. Bowen

Travis L. Bowen is the president and founder of Bowen Law Professional Group and has practiced for more than four decades. His work centers on tax and estate planning for high-net-worth individuals and owners of closely held businesses. He advises on asset protection, estate planning, probate avoidance, business planning and succession, tax planning, charitable giving, charitable remainder trusts, and private foundations. His practice includes representation in tax matters involving the IRS.

Bowen earned a J.D. from Brigham Young University J. Reuben Clark Law School in 1980, graduating cum laude. He previously received a B.A. in Economics from Brigham Young University in 1977, with cum laude honors. His education in law and economics supports a planning practice that frequently requires coordination among tax rules, ownership structures, estate documents, business interests, and long-term transfer objectives for individuals, families, and closely held companies.

Bowen has advised clients from industries including construction, automotive, medical and dental services, agriculture, manufacturing, retail, real estate, telecommunications, transportation, and professional sports. His work addresses the transfer and protection of assets, business continuity, tax exposure, and ownership planning. He developed a proprietary Asset Protection System and has represented clients before the IRS, combining preventive planning with experience addressing tax controversies and government-related issues when they arise.

Travis L. Bowen has chaired the Utah State Bar Section on Taxation and has participated in estate planning, probate, and American Bar Association sections. He has written and spoken on tax, estate planning, and asset-protection topics and has received an AV Preeminent peer-review rating. His practice focuses on structuring plans that connect personal estates, business interests, tax considerations, and succession goals while helping clients address legal risks before they become larger problems.
