About

Tony DelGiorno is an accomplished Illinois attorney with a practice dedicated to elder law, estate and Medicaid planning, and litigated probate and guardianship matters. With years of experience serving individuals and communities, he has built a strong reputation for his integrity, compassion, and effective representation in complex legal cases involving seniors and families.

Tony earned his Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Illinois College in Jacksonville, where he received multiple academic honors, including the Pre-Law Award and recognition from the History and International Studies departments. He continued his education at The American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington, D.C., earning his J.D. while serving as President of the Law and Government Society. His early experience included work as a legal intern with the U.S. Senate Democratic Leadership and later as an attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel in Washington, D.C.

Tony has been deeply involved in professional and community service throughout his career. He has served on the Illinois State Bar Association’s advisory councils for Elder Law and Local Government, edited the Elder Law Council Newsletter from 2007 to 2011, and chaired the Elder Law Section during the 2023–24 term. As a former Business Law instructor at Illinois College, he has shared his knowledge with students and lectured widely on elder law topics, including Medicaid, elder abuse, and end-of-life directives. His regular contributions to Senior News and Times of Central Illinois demonstrate his ongoing commitment to educating the public on senior legal issues.

Tony DelGiorno extends his public service beyond the courtroom. Elected to the Sangamon County Board in 2012, he actively participates in several board committees. He also serves as a board member and officer of Moving Pillsbury Forward, NFP, advancing community redevelopment projects in Springfield. Licensed to practice in Illinois, the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, and the U.S. Tax Court, he continues to promote justice and community progress.
