Toby McLaughlin

Toby McLaughlin is a principal and founding partner at Sandpoint Law in Sandpoint, Idaho. With more than two decades of legal experience, he focuses on civil and business litigation, business formation and transactions, and real estate matters. He represents individuals, businesses, and organizations before local state courts and the Idaho Supreme Court, helping clients evaluate disputes, protect their interests, and pursue practical resolutions through negotiation or litigation.

McLaughlin earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics from the University of Idaho. While attending the university, he completed a fellowship at the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory, where he contributed to systems engineering projects. He later received both a Master of Business Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon. His education in economics, business, engineering systems, and law supports an analytical approach to complex legal and commercial problems.

McLaughlin has extensive courtroom experience handling civil disputes, business conflicts, and real estate matters. His practice also includes advising clients on business formation and transactions, allowing him to assist companies with both preventive planning and disputes that arise during operations.
