Timothy M. Schafer is an attorney known for his steady focus on workers’ compensation and personal injury matters. Over the course of his legal career, he has represented individuals facing difficult circumstances and helped them pursue fair outcomes. His background in mediation and courtroom practice allows him to guide clients through complex disputes.
Education played an important role in shaping Timothy’s legal career and academic foundation. He earned an Associate’s in Applied Science from the United States Air Force in 1998. He later received a B.A. from the University at Albany, State University of New York in 2001, completing a dual major in English and Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Timothy then obtained a J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2005.
Timothy developed early experience working in the Connecticut court system before becoming an attorney. Prior to admission to the bar, he worked as a mediator in criminal matters within the Bridgeport, Norwalk, and Waterbury Superior Courts. This experience provided valuable insight into conflict resolution and legal procedure.
Timothy later began practicing law in Connecticut, where he worked with a small practice in Norwalk and focused on workers’ compensation cases. During this time, he built a reputation for assisting injured workers and individuals dealing with legal challenges following workplace incidents and other personal injury matters.
Timothy is admitted to practice law in both the State of Connecticut and the State of New York. He is also certified in alternative dispute resolution. In addition, he previously served as a juvenile law panel attorney for the juvenile court program in Danbury, Connecticut, which also serves Stamford.
Timothy has also contributed to efforts that assist vulnerable children through legal support. His work in Connecticut’s juvenile court system led to recommendations for pro bono involvement with Child Advocates of Connecticut, an organization that helps abused and neglected children find safe and stable homes.
Timothy M. Schafer also served in the United States Air Force. He held the rank of Staff Sergeant on active duty from 1994 until 1998 and later served as a reservist from 2001 until 2004. His military service earned several decorations, including two Air Force Achievement Medals, two National Defense Service Medals, and an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with Valor.
