His practice includes real estate matters, criminal defense, personal injury claims, zoning issues, and estate-related concerns. Through years of public service and private practice experience, he has assisted clients with important decisions and difficult legal situations across Delaware.
Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a Minor in Economics from George Washington University and also attended the American College in Paris. He later received his Juris Doctor from the Delaware Law School. In addition, he studied international law in Europe through the Dickinson School of Law, expanding his understanding of legal systems and international legal principles.
Tim began developing his legal experience through public service roles that provided valuable insight into government and the law. Before entering private practice, he served as a Deputy Attorney General, where he prosecuted criminal cases in Sussex County for approximately 10 years. He also worked for Senator Tom Carper during different stages of his public career and spent 15 years serving as a Senate attorney for the Delaware Senate Majority Caucus.
Tim focuses a significant portion of his practice on real estate law, including property settlements and zoning matters. He assists clients with transactions, land use concerns, and related legal issues. His work in this area helps property owners, buyers, and developers navigate legal requirements while protecting their interests throughout the process.
Tim also represents adults and juveniles facing criminal charges, including Felonies, Misdemeanors, Traffic Offenses, and DUI cases. In addition, he advocates for individuals who have suffered injuries in automobile accidents and other personal injury matters. By combining courtroom experience with practical legal knowledge, he works to protect the rights of those he represents in Delaware State Courts.
Beyond his legal practice, Timothy G. Willard has remained active in public and community service. He was elected by the Episcopal Diocese of Delaware to serve as Chancellor for the Delaware Diocese and was appointed to the Delaware Sentence Accountability Commission.
