His early work in family law, workers’ compensation, and criminal defense helped him build practical courtroom and client-service skills that later supported broader legal matters.

Thomas later moved to Saco, Maine, where his practice shifted toward commercial and corporate law, residential and commercial real estate transactions, and small business representation. In 2016, he opened Thomas S. Coward & Associates, P.C., focusing on estate planning, small business advice, real estate sales, and legal consulting for small and medium-sized Maine companies.
