Thomas N. Long is a highly respected attorney with extensive experience in tax law, estate planning, business organization, trust administration, and real estate law. As the senior member of his firm, he is widely recognized for his expertise in guiding individuals, families, and businesses through complex legal matters related to estate and wealth transfer planning, probate administration, guardianships, and business structuring.

Mr. Long graduated magna cum laude from the University of Wyoming with degrees in Economics and Political Science in 1972. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1976. Since 1981, he has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Tax Court and is licensed to practice law in Wyoming. His deep knowledge of estate taxation, trust law, and corporate regulations has made him a sought-after advisor in private and corporate legal matters.

Mr. Long has provided strategic legal counsel in estate and wealth planning, trust formation, business structuring, and tax-efficient asset transfers throughout his career. He also serves as an expert witness and attorney consultant, offering estate and tax law insights. His work extends to private trust company formation and situs administration, helping clients establish and manage trusts that protect generational wealth.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Long has demonstrated a strong commitment to legal education and community service. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where he served as Wyoming State Chairman from 1998-2003, and a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel. He has been a guest lecturer and former Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Wyoming College of Law, where he taught Gift and Estate Taxation.

Beyond his legal work, Mr. Long has dedicated years to public service, including seventeen years as Commissioner of the Cheyenne Housing Authority and leadership roles in the Cheyenne Regional Medical Center Foundation and the Wyoming State Bar’s Lawyer Mentoring Program. His expertise, leadership, and commitment to the legal profession make him a trusted estate and business law advisor.
