About
Thomas L. Douglas is an attorney and co-founder of Douglas McDaniel & Campo in North Yarmouth, Maine whose practice focuses on civil litigation and dispute resolution in state and federal courts. He represents clients in business disputes, wage and hour matters, employment discrimination claims, probate cases, construction disputes, Title IX matters, and personal injury and wrongful death litigation. His practice also includes mediation, real estate litigation, and judicial and administrative appeals.
Douglas earned a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2003 and a B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts in 1999. His academic background preceded a litigation career that began at a large Boston law firm before he returned to Maine. This background supports Douglas’ legal analysis and problem solving in civil litigation and dispute resolution, including work that requires close attention to detailed facts, governing rules, and practical consequences.
Douglas’ experience includes trial and appellate matters in Maine state and federal courts, including cases involving commercial conflicts, employment issues, probate, residential and commercial construction, and serious injury claims. Douglas has appeared before the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and has also taught trial advocacy, including service as an adjunct at the University of Maine School of Law and as an instructor in Harvard Law School trial advocacy programming.
Thomas L. Douglas brings courtroom, appellate, mediation, and teaching experience to a broad civil practice. Douglas has served as a Commissioner of the Maine Human Rights Commission and co-founded the firm in 2013. In serving businesses and individuals, Douglas brings practical judgment and subject-matter knowledge to the issues presented. Douglas helps clients assess disputes, litigation strategy, and possible paths to resolution with advice grounded in the specific facts and legal framework of each matter.
